Businesses, lenders, and real estate attorneys working on purchases of  new commercial property should be advised that new minimum standard detail requirements for ALTA/ACSM Land Title standards (effective February 23, 2011)  have gone into effect.   Richard Matheny of Cardinal Surveying  attended a course presented by Charles L. Bevington, P.L.S.  of Transit Seminars  in Clarksville, Indiana.  The seminar reviewed all of the changes and new requirements including Table A requirements, new measurement standards, specific record document research and an option for the lender to require professional  liability insurance. These new requirements will benefit all parties by clarifying the ALTA standards to assist with uniformity of standards for land surveys nation wide.
